The Mets had been playing so well that they were due for a stinker. Sean Manaea got off to a rough start when he walked the bases loaded and then hit a batter to force in a run. He settled in nicely after that, and even took a no-hitter into the sixth, but things fell apart quickly. Sean Reid-Foley and Drew Smith both struggled in relief and the Rangers came from behind to win the game. After Pete Alonso’s home run earlier, the offense stagnated and the Mets winning streak came to an end at seven games.
