Mets Morning News: Ramos a La Playa

The Mets got themselves a new starting catcher by signing veteran Wilson Ramos to a two-year deal for $19 million guaranteed with an option for a third year.

Unsurprisingly, the Wilson Ramos signing has taken the Mets out of contention for J.T. Realmuto.

Former Rangers and current Nippon Ham Fighters pitcher Nick Martinez will not be taking his talents to Syracuse as he is said to be turning down the Mets’ minor league offer and staying in Japan.

Coming into the 2019 season, Todd Frazier says he will take Peter Alonso underneath his wing and guide him through the beginning of his MLB career.
