The Mets continued their hot streak and kept pace in the NL Wild Card race with a 7-2 victory over the Red Sox on Tuesday night. David Peterson got the start on his 29th birthday and pitched 7 innings, striking out 11 batters and allowing just one run. At the plate, Francisco Lindor continued his MVP campaign, hitting a two-run homer in the third, and a clutch RBI double in the eighth inning. Mark Vientos and Pete Alonso also slugged homers, as the Mets won their 7th game in a row.
