It’s been a lost season to say the least, but the Mets said goodbye to Citi Field for the year on a high note. Robert Gsellman pitched well for six innings, the bullpen did not surrender a run, and the offense exploded late to seal the win. Travis d’Arnaud drove in the first three Mets runs and then Dominic Smith drove in the next three with a mighty blast off the bench. This was not the sendoff fans were envisioning when the season started, but most likely a few Mets have stepped through the Citi Field doors for the last time.
