Chris Flexen was roughed up in his spot start in place of Jacob deGrom, as the Mets lost to the Cardinals 10-2, once again exposing their thin pitching depth. The Mets were held scoreless through seven, but Jeff McNeil did collect his 100th career hit. He is now the fastest Met to reach 100 hits for his career in franchise history.
