The Mets traded Steven Matz to the Blue Jays in return for three prospects which could free up space for Trevor Bauer.
The prospects they got in return were ranked in the top 30 in Toronto’s system and give them depth in the system.
It was a busy day for the Mets who signed reliever Aaron Loup after missing out on Brad Hand.
They also named Zack Scott as their acting general manager. He was originally hired to be the assistant general manager to Jared Porter.
