The Mets kicked off June in typical Mets fashion, blowing a 4-0 lead and losing to the Diamondbacks. After jumping out to the lead thanks to a Dominic Smith two-run homer, an RBI triple from Francisco Lindor, and a sac-fly from Smith, Marcus Stroman and the Mets bullpen couldn’t shut down Arizona to secure a sixth win in a row. With two outs in the ninth, Edwin Diaz gave up a soft single into right field, blowing his first save of the year and tying the game at 4. After James McCann drove in one run in the top of the tenth, Trevor May came on in the bottom half of the inning, and gave up a walk-off double, on a hit that was very, very close to being a foul ball.
