All was not well for the Mets on Friday, as Jacob deGrom got absolutely shelled by the woeful Marlins in a game that was at turns baffling, and demoralizing. While the Mets managed to muster some late innings offense, and Pete Alonso continued his pattern of hitting home runs off relievers, it was too little, too late and the Mets lost 8-6.
Earlier in the day, the Mets made a series of roster moves, designating Keon Broxton for assignment, sending Michael Conforto to the DL, and calling up Carlos Gomez and Paul Sewald.
