The Mets defeated the Nationals in extra innings for the second straight night, winning 7-2. Sean Manaea got the start for New York and delivered one of his best performances of the year, pitching 7 innings and allowing just two runs. The first Mets run came off a Francisco Lindor solo homer in the sixth inning. In the top of the eighth, Brandon Nimmo’s RBI single tied the game at 2, scoring Francisco Lindor who had hit a double. In the tenth, the Mets’ bats came alive once again, scoring 5 runs to secure another Mets victory.
