In the 90th All-Star game, the American League prevailed over the National League 4-3. All three Mets’ All-Stars played in the game. Jacob deGrom pitched the third inning, retiring the side on seven pitches and was able to get Mike Trout to pop up, avenging the home run he hit off of deGrom in last years game. Pete Alonso went 1-2 with an RBI single in the eighth inning. Jeff McNeil recorded an out in his only at bat and had an unfortunate mishap appear on the scoreboard during his plate appearance.
