As has been the case all season long, Jacob deGrom had another strong outing for the Mets, but his team was unable to provide him any run support. Outside of running into trouble in the fourth inning where he gave up a two-run double, deGrom shut the Marlins down, going seven innings, allowing two runs and striking out nine. The Mets’ offense on the night came from a Michael Conforto solo homer in the bottom of the sixth and a Kevin Plawecki two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth.
