After winning the first game in the series against the Padres, the Mets fared decidedly less well last night. The offense managed just two hits and struck out a whopping fourteen times against Joe Musgrove and the San Diego bullpen. Meanwhile, Paul Blackburn gave up ten hits and five runs in 2.1 innings of work, so the game was pretty much over from the very beginning. The Mets ultimately lost 7-0 and lost ground in the wild card standings.
