The Mets rolled into Boston to take on MLB’s best team, and promptly rolled over the Red Sox. In a game that more closely resembled the Boston massacre than a competition, the Mets looked unstoppable, chasing multiple Red Sox pitchers from the game as they put up eight runs. On the other side of things, Noah Syndergaard looked like his old self, pitching seven scoreless innings before Jerry Blevins and Tyler Bashlor relieved him to finish up the shutout.
Tom Hallion, the umpire who blocked Todd Frazier’s home run celebration, may be in trouble with the league.
