The Mets once again held a lead and once again blew it in yet another loss to the Phillies. They managed to take it to extras but it was over quickly once Stephen Nogosek entered. It shouldn’t have gotten to that point but Seth Lugo blew the Mets’ lead and it was only a matter of time before the Phillies’ walked it off.
Jason Vargas was on the mound for the first time since the clubhouse confrontation in Wrigley, and Keith Hernandez and Gary Cohen were not happy with the way he handled himself.
