The Mets managed to do something Sunday that they were unable to do for the entire 2017 season-sweep a series at home. After being stymied by Clay Buchholz for almost six innings, Amed Rosario jumpstarted the offense with his first home run of the year. Asdrubal Cabrera handed them the lead with a pinch-hit home run and Rosario added a second blast one pitch later for good measure. Noah Syndergaard was good on the mound and Robert Gsellman closed it out for the first save of his career.
Syndergaard kept the damage to a minimum against the Diamondbacks because he did a much better job of holding baserunners.
