On Tuesday, Pete Alonso donated his game worn 9/11 tribute cleats to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in Manhattan. Alice M. Greenwald, president of the organization, said Alonso is a perfect example of a young man who understands what it means to never forget.
The commemorative cleats will become an annual tradition if the Mets are not allowed to wear the hats of first-responders, Alonso said.
Alonso also sat down with Howie Rose for a one-on-one interview reflecting on his historic rookie season.
