Christian Scott was fantastic in his major league debut, striking out six Rays hitters and allowing just one run over 6 2⁄3 innings of work. But the Mets’ anemic offense struck again, as they fell to the Rays 3-1. The game was a pitcher’s duel early and the Rays won the battle of the bullpens; Adam Ottavino and Sean Reid-Foley each walked in a run with the bases loaded in the eighth to put the Rays ahead, where they would ultimately remain.
