Mets minor leaguer Jacquez suspended 50 games for drugs (The Associated Press)

NEW YORK (AP) -- Mets minor league pitcher Ricky Jacquez has been suspended 50 games for a second positive test for a drug of abuse.

The commissioner's office made the announcement Friday.

The 22-year-old righty was on the roster of Kingsport in the rookie-level Appalachian League. The team starts play in late June.

Jacquez was 2-0 with six saves and a 1.74 ERA in 16 games with Kingsport in 2013. He didn't pitch in the minors last year.
