Connor Buchmann, a pitcher for the Kingsport Mets, was given a 50-game suspension for amphetamine use.
Mets minor league pitcher Connor Buchmann has been suspended for a 50 games after testing positive for amphetamines. The Mets selected Buchmann in the 11th round of the 2014 amateur draft. He started his professional career with the Gulf Coast League Mets but threw just 6.2 innings in relief that season.
In 2015, Buchmann played for the Kingsport Mets and had a 13.89 ERA with five strikeouts and 19 walks in 11.2 innings of work.
