Mets reliever Jenrry Mejia is eligible for arbitration and the team plans to bring him back in 2016, team officials told ESPN beat reporter Adam Rubin (Nov. 30, 2015).
Mejia, 26, who is serving his second suspension for performance-enhancing drugs, can rejoin the Mets toward the end of July.
According to Rubin, he is likely to earn roughly $1 million next season. In seven appearances last year, he pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings. He recorded 28 saves with a 3.65 ERA in 63 appearances in 2014.
If Mejia is caught using performance-enhancing drugs for a third time, he would be subject to a lifetime ban.
