Mets outfielder Michael Conforto is dealing with strained cartilage in his left wrist and recently received a cortisone injection for the injury, he told the team’s beat writers on Tuesday.
Conforto hopes to be able to return to the lineup in a few days.
He has been struggling since May, with his triple slash dropping to .233/.304/.451 as whispers of a demotion to Triple-A have begun — though not from the Mets’ end.
Along with Conforto, the Mets are still without Neil Walker, who is dealing with a lower back issue.
