Mets Memories: Six years later, Mike Baxter remembers the catch and his private moment with Santana

It's June 1, 2012, top of the seventh inning, and a Mets fan from Whitestone is in left field. Mike Baxter is hoping to be part of something that he never saw as a kid: A no-hitter by the home team.

St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina comes up with one out, and hits a 3-1 pitch from Johan Santana in Baxter's direction. Baxter follows the flight of the ball, and knows it will be a tough play.

"Molina hit the ball pretty hard over my left shoulder," Baxter says now, speaking on the phone from his adopted home of Nashville.
