Add another known candidate to the list of Mets managerial hopefuls.
Eduardo Perez, who has spent the last several years as an ESPN analyst, will interview with the club, according to an industry source. Perez joins Joe Girardi, Carlos Beltran, Derek Shelton, Mike Bell and Luis Rojas among the known candidates to replace Mickey Callaway.
Perez, 50, played 13 seasons in the major leagues with the Angels, Reds, Cardinals, Rays, Indians and Mariners. Since completing his playing career, Perez has spent most of his time in broadcasting, but he served as Astros bench coach under Bo Porter in 2013.
