Mets Make 2 Trades; Kevin Plawecki Dealt

The Mets made two trades on Sunday, with Kevin Plawecki the biggest name of the eight players changing teams. So yeah, low-level stuff.

Plawecki goes to Cleveland for pitcher Walker Lockett and infielder Sam Haggerty. Interestingly, the Indians only acquired Lockett in November, so clearly Brodie Van Wagenen had interest in him when the Noah Syndergaard-to-San Diego rumors were floating around.

The deal also means the Mets will apparently go with Travis d’Arnaud as the backup catcher. Maybe he will last the entire season if he only plays once a week.

In the other deal, the Mets sent a trio of prospects — Luis Santana, Ross Adolph and Scott Manea — to the Astros for J.
