Mets: Lucas Duda to resume baseball activity in two weeks

Mets first baseman Lucas Duda, who has been on the disabled list since May 23 due to a stress fracture in his back, is expected to resume baseball activity in two weeks, Mets GM Sandy Alderson said on Tuesday.

Since being placed on the DL, Duda has been doing strengthening exercises and riding a stationary bike.

He was hitting .231/.297/.431 with seven HR and 19 RBIs in 39 games before his injury.

James Loney has been the Mets’ regular first baseman since May 31, hitting .298/.353/.447 with two home runs, six doubles, and eight RBIs in 26 games.
