NEW YORK -- The Mets' bullpen took another hit Friday in advance of the Subway Series, when the team placed closer Jeurys Familia on the disabled list due to right shoulder soreness. The club recalled right-hander Jacob Rhame from Triple-A Las Vegas to replace Familia on the roster.
Familia owned a 2.48 ERA in 29 innings. The Mets' setup man, AJ Ramos, is also on the disabled list, making Robert Gsellman and Seth Lugo candidates to close.
The Mets also announced that Yoenis Cespedes will begin a Minor League rehab assignment Friday with Double-A Binghamton.
