Mets LHP prospect Anthony Kay healthy and back on track

Mets LHP prospect Anthony Kay, who had Tommy John surgery in October of 2016, is back in action and pitching for Low-A Columbia.

Kay was the Mets' 31st pick in the first round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of UConn, and he's happy to be back on the mound, writes Andrew Battifarano for MiLB.com.

The 23-year-old Kay, who attended the same Long Island high school as Steven Matz, has a 3.59 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 40 strikeouts in 42.2 innings (eight starts) this season for Columbia.

"Things have been going great," Mets director of player of development Ian Levin told Battifarano.
