With Jacob deGrom having allowed 13 runs on 25 hits in 9.2 innings during his past two starts, the Mets are leaning toward skipping his next start.
Mets manager Terry Collins said Friday that rest in-season has done deGrom well during the last two seasons.
As far as who might start in deGrom’s place, Collins mentioned Sean Gilmartin, Gabriel Ynoa, Logan Verrett, and Rafael Montero.
Mets GM Sandy Alderson said deGrom’s pitches aren’t moving the way they usually do.
Alderson noted he doesn’t believe it’s a health issue for deGrom, and suggested it could be a mechanical issue.
