Mets left-handed reliever Josh Edgin, who underwent Tommy John surgery last March, said on Tuesday in Port St. Lucie that he’s aiming to return to the Mets around May 1.
Edgin’s comments echo those of GM Sandy Alderson, who recently suggested a May 1 return date for Edgin.
After racking up a career-low strikeout rate (6.28) and a career-high walk rate (3.77) in 2013, Edgin rebounded in 2014, with a 1.32 ERA and 0.91 WHIP to go along with a 9.22 strikeout rate in 47 games (27.1 innings).
