The Mets are interested in third baseman Gio Urshela, according to Mark Sanchez of the Post. The 32-year-old is best known for the three seasons he spent with the Yankees from 2019 through 2021.
In his time in The Bronx, Urshela hit .292/.335/.480 with 41 home runs and a 118 wRC+ in 1,092 plate appearances. That was nothing short of a great success, as he had totaled just a 57 wRC+ in major league stints in Cleveland in Toronto from 2015 through 2018.
Following the 2021 season, the Yankees traded Urshela to the Twins, and he had a nice season in Minnesota in 2022.
