PITTSBURGH — David Wright sees her as a team mother, someone who comes into the clubhouse and checks in on the players to see how their families are doing. Matt Harvey was touched by how Shannon Dalton Forde took the time to make him a book of clippings from his first major-league season, how she knew it would be important to him in the long run.
And Daniel Murphy just sees her as a constant reminder that while baseball is their job, they are part of a bigger family.
On Tuesday, Forde, the 20-year member of the Mets public relations staff, will also be known around the club as a Hall of Famer.
