The Mets announced on Monday that Jerry Blevins will be in a splint for six weeks due to the fractured forearm he suffered during Sunday’s game.
Blevins suffered the fracture when he was struck by a line drive while pitching in the seventh inning. According to the Mets, Blevins’ specific injury is a distal radius fracture.
If Blevins is healed once the splint comes off, he’ll be able to resume throwing.
To replace Blevins on the roster, the Mets have called up RHP Hansel Robles from Triple-A Las Vegas.
On Sunday, Jason Greenwood, a physical therapist, estimated that a likely time frame for Blevins to recover would be four-to-eight weeks.
