New York Mets LHP Jerry Blevins slipped off a curb while walking on Monday, fell, and re-broke the left forearm he initially suffered in April, the team announced.
Blevins, who had recently been cleared to throw and was expected to return in September, will have season-ending surgery.
In April, Blevins was struck in the forearm with a line drive, and his initial recovery took longer than initially expected.
The Mets acquired Blevins before the season in exchange for Matt den Dekker.

This is terrible for Blevins, who was just starting to work his way back and had tweeted about his excitement while cheering his teammates on from the sidelines.
