A new report from Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald has two Mets infielders getting some interest from the AL East-leading Red Sox right now.
According to Silverman, the Sox are looking at both Asdrubal Cabrera and T.J. Rivera as possible acquisitions to help bolster their already powerful lineup with some added depth in the infield.
The Red Sox need a third baseman so it’s not surprising that they’re looking at the Mets to fill that need.
Cabrera can play third and although his preference is obviously playing short, he may be willing to move for the opportunity to play for a contender.
