Mets infielder T.J. Rivera, who is working his way back from Tommy John surgery, has been diagnosed with an elbow sprain and received a PRP injection, according to Tim Healey. That report adds that Rivera is halfway through a 10-day shutdown right now.
Rivera played in just six rehab games in the minors before the shutdown began. He underwent his Tommy John surgery on September 14 last year after hitting .290/.330/.430 over 73 games with the Mets during the 2017 season. He served in a super utility role for the club, playing 28 games at third base, 20 at first base, 12 at second base, and other three in left field.
