Of everyone who made the tip to Citi Field for the Mets’ home opener on Friday, few were happier to be there than Rusty Staub. He wasn’t sure he would see the ballpark again after his heart attack last October.
“To be truthful, I’m just kind of pleased I’m still around to watch it,” Staub told The Post after raising the Mets’ 2015 National League championship banner in right field as part of the Opening Day festivities. “I’m feeling fine. I’m not doing a whole lot of wind sprints right now, but I’m getting along.
“I’m alive.
