Lieutenant Colonel Michael Stinnett has a frame that bulges out of his camouflage and a handshake like a clamp, and looks as if he jumped straight off an Army recruitment poster.
He also may be New York Mets’ biggest fan.
As he stood on the top step of the home team's dugout on a muggy Thursday afternoon at Citi Field, New York City's Recruiting Battalion Commander since June 2013 couldn't help but smile.
“This is huge,” Stinnett said. “I've got soldiers who have got the New York Mets logo tattooed on their arms. For them to be able to play on the field with the players, like a player, it's phenomenal.
