Mets hope they're in a position to skip another Matt Harvey start

The Mets offered a clearer glimpse on Wednesday about how they intend to manage their talented stable of young pitchers as the season enters its final weeks.

Matt Harvey will likely have one more turn in the rotation skipped, according to manager Terry Collins, the latest step in an effort to comfortably manage his innings load.

Meanwhile, Collins confirmed that Steven Matz will start on Sunday against the Marlins in place of Noah Syndergaard, with Bartolo Colon slotted to pitch on regular rest on Saturday.

The Mets would then adopt a six-man rotation, another wrinkle to help limit innings.
