Michael Conforto and Todd Frazier hit back-to-back home runs with two outs in the ninth inning to lift the Mets to a walk-off victory over the Marlins in the opening game of their doubleheader Thursday.
Steven Matz started and allowed three runs on three hits in 6 1/3 innings, but he made his biggest splash at the plate.
With the Mets down 2-0 in the second, Matz launched his first career home run, a two-run game-tying blast off Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara.
Alcantara went seven innings before giving way to Adam Conley, who recorded four straight outs, including the first batter of the ninth.
