The Mets continued their busy weekend by rounding out their coaching staff with the hiring of Dave Jauss as bench coach, per Jon Heyman.
Jauss has worn many hats in his long career, making his break in 1988 as a manager in the Montreal Expos farm system. Jauss has had subsequent stints in Boston, Los Angeles, and Baltimore, with roles varying from an advance scout to a first base coach. In 2010, he was named the Mets’ bench coach, part of Jerry Manuel’s final coaching staff of his Mets tenure. He has spent several years in the Pirates’ organization since then.
