The Mets have interest in right-handed reliever Tommy Hunter, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post, who notes that Hunter is seeking a multi-year deal.
Hunter, 29, made $4.6 million last season while posting a 4.18 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 60.1 innings with the Orioles and Cubs. He struck out 47 batters.
For his career, Hunter has posted a 4.31 ERA and 1.27 WHIP while striking out 5.63 per nine. Hunter’s best two seasons came in 2013 and 2014, where he posted ERA’s of 2.81 and 2.97 respectively.
The Mets have also recently expressed interest in left-handed reliever Antonio Bastardo, who is said to be seeking a three-year deal.
