Mets GM Sandy Alderson named Executive of the Year by BA

New York Mets GM Sandy Alderson has been named the Major League Baseball Executive of the Year by Baseball America, it was announced on Tuesday.

Alderson is the first Mets executive to be honored by Baseball America, which has been naming an Executive of the Year since 1998.

This season, Alderson oversaw a club that went 90-72, beat the Dodgers in five games in the NLDS, swept the Cubs in the NLCS, and lost the World Series to the Royals in five games.

2015 was the first season since 2008 where the Mets had a winning record and their first time reaching the postseason since 2006, when Omar Minaya was still GM.
