The Mets have acquired utility infielder Pablo Reyes from the Red Sox in exchange for cash considerations. The 30-year-old has played for the Pirates, Brewers, and Red Sox at the major league level over the past few years.
In 64 plate appearances this year, Reyes has hit .183/.234/.217 with a 25 wRC+. If the Mets decide to put him on their active roster, the team has an open spot on the 40-man roster and would only need to send a player with options to the minors if it so desires. And if that were to happen, he’d have the second-lowest wRC+ on the Mets’ active roster, as Omar Narváez has hit .
