The Mets finally have gotten around to patching up their bullpen.
Fox Sports reported the Mets agreed Friday to a one-year deal with right-hander Fernando Salas, who had finished the 2016 season with the team. Salas, 31, had a 2.08 ERA in 17 appearances (19 strikeouts, zero walks) following his Aug. 31 acquisition.
The Mets also agreed to a minor league deal with veteran left-hander Tom Gorzelanny, according to FanRag Sports. The deal reportedly is worth $1 million if he makes the majors, with an additional $1.8 million available in incentives. The 34-year-old has been ineffective the past two seasons, bouncing from the Tigers to the Indians to the Orioles.
