What’s not to like about watching hefty Bartolo Colon step into the batter’s box? Sometimes he even keeps his helmet on his head as he swings away, and on occasion he even makes contact with the ball.

So when he reached out and lined a single into left field in the fifth inning of Monday afternoon’s game at Citi Field against the Philadelphia Phillies, Mets fans were naturally delighted. They were even more amused a short time later when Colon tagged up at second base and chugged into third, all 285 pounds of him.
