NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The Mets will be without Wilmer Flores for a while.
The utility infielder is being placed on the disabled list with a knee infection, WFAN baseball insider Jon Heyman reported Friday.
There has been no word yet on when Flores might be able to return to the lineup.
He spent Wednesday night in a New York hospital with the infection, the Mets said. Flores had been playing with “discomfort” in the knee a couple of days before seeing doctors.
“The infection is in the joint,” Mets manager Collins told reporters Thursday.
