Mets find a new hero after 112-mile Uber ride

An Uber driver named Jason picked up his passenger at 1050 IronPigs Way in Allentown, Pa., early Wednesday evening.

The rider needed to go about 112 miles to 123-01 Roosevelt Avenue in Queens for what would be a hefty fare during the heart of rush hour, but a necessary cost. Jason and his passenger made good conversation to pass the time until they finally arrived at Citi Field sometime around 8 p.m.

Rajai Davis got out of the car, quickly dressed into a Mets uniform, and less than two hours later, crushed a pinch-hit, three-run home run to earn a curtain call in the Mets’ 6-1 win over the Nationals.
