Trailing by two heading to the bottom of the ninth, the Mets were set up to lose yet another game this afternoon at Citi Field, but a three-run rally gave the team a sorely needed walk-off win over the Giants. It was the Mets’ first victory since winning a series finale in Miami a week ago.
Sean Manaea was solid if unspectacular against the Giants’ lineup, as he went five innings and gave up two runs. He struck out six, walked just one, and allowed five hits, but he threw 88 pitches along the way.
The Mets plated their first run of the day immediately after Manaea allowed his first in the second inning, as Harrison Bader singled to plate DJ Stewart and tie the game.
