LOS ANGELES — Todd Frazier was incredulous it took until his latest blast, earlier this week, for somebody to ask about his tradition of pretending to check his watch during his home run trot.
“I check my watch and let [the pitcher] know it wasn’t the right time basically to throw that pitch,” Frazier said.
The Mets third baseman hasn’t enjoyed as many opportunities to check his watch as he would have liked, especially this season, but after a stretch in which his job appeared in jeopardy, Frazier lately is among the team’s hottest hitters.
