Disconnect, what disconnect?
Yoenis Cespedes and top Mets officials may not have a clue what each party is thinking, but assistant general manager John Ricco declined Sunday to term the gap between the two sides a “disconnect.”
The latest confusion revolves around Cespedes’ statements from Friday night, when the Mets outfielder said he may need surgery on both heels that would carry an eight- to 10-month rehab.
Ricco was absent from Yankee Stadium on Saturday because of a previous commitment, leaving manager Mickey Callaway to answer for the organization. That included Callaway saying he was unsure exactly what Cespedes had said.
